The fort Knox historical site hosted its annual civil war enactment in prospect, which ran from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.
The event presented various demonstrations open to the public, such as a live skirmish recreation with the help from volunteers.
other live demos included fort operations as well as camp life during the time period.
"The 20th Maine and the 15th Alabama and the 35th Virginia are here with us today," says Fort Knox Executive Director Dean Martin, "Fort Knox is an excellent example of third system coastal defense fortification, and now you add living history to that, you get get real people in here and it kind of brings history to life."
Fort Knox Will be Hosting Another Civil War encampment event next weekend, with the help from the 6th Maine Battery and the 3rd Maine Regiment Infantry to demonstrate live cannon firing.
