This week marks 75 years of the two being married.
An anniversary celebration took place Saturday at Alamoosook Lakeside Inn, where family and friends gathered to celebrate the marriage of Natalie and Welman McFarland.
Natalie was born in Aroostook County, while Welman was born in Massachusetts.
The two met at a teen night. They began to date later on, and would eventually be married in Bucksport, where The couple raised two daughters.
“75 years have gone by in the blink of an eye. Bucksport’s been a wonderful place to have been married, and we brought up our family, and we had a business here that was successful, also. And we’ve retired here happily,” said Natalie.
Natalie McFarland reveals that the key to a long marriage includes one important word: compromise.
