The Wilson Center is dedicated to individualities who want to share their culture or ideas for the broader community of Orono, Maine. Not only is the Wilson Center dedicated to spiritual exploration and multifaith dialogue, but also for anyone of any religion, race or background to find a sense of community.
First founded in 1984, the Wilson Center’s mission aims to work for social justice and offer opportunities for diverse, spiritual growth. As part of their mission, the center hosts a dinner and dialogue series every Thursday from 6PM to 8PM. During this time, preparations are made for a culturally diverse dinner of foods from around the world for community members, while also providing a presentation of societal topics or special events to celebrate religious holidays, led by Sonja Birthisel and coordinated by Tessa Shantalere.
